156gsm textured rayon challis navy blue, by metre

Yet another hard-to-describe fashion fabric... This one is most likely a rayon crepe challis with slight stretch.  It is extremely soft, cottony-feeling, almost cuddly, not as fine-textured as a tencel/ lyocell challis, with a slightly dry hand-feel.  It feels similar to the "cottony rayon challises" that were previously stocked in the shop, so it may have a very small percentage of linen content, as they did.  The surface of the fabric has a slight pebbled or crinkled texture, and on top of this there are subtle woven checks in a slightly different shade of navy blue.  The checks are slightly puckered, like a seersucker.  This puckered effect may be more obvious after washing.  Fabric is matte and opaque on the skin.  Like most challises, it is extremely drapey, without body or structure.  Suitable for tops, drapey blouses, dresses, skirts, even sleepwear.
