Mercerised pure cotton interlock knit T-shirt fabric, very smooth (smoother than typical cotton jersey), soft to the touch, woven of very fine, long staple cotton yarns which give the fabric a silky feel and subtle natural sheen. Fabric feels "dense" in the hand despite being relatively thin. Has a soft, slightly structured drape. Double knit, so raw edges lie flat and don't curl, making the fabric easier to cut and sew. A perfect fabric for T-shirts, tops, tee dresses, casual shorts, pajamas, men's wear and children's wear. Despite the high inherent stretch, fabric is not suitable for leggings or other fitted articles are it contains no stretch fibre. This Black is a jet black and opaque on the skin. About "soft-type" vs "dense-type": This fabric and the others shown in the photos on this page are marked as "dense-type". Compared to the mercerised long staple cotton interlocks in the shop marked as "soft-type", these have a more dense and ultra-smooth texture, whilst the "soft-type" have a somewhat more plush texture and a lofty hand-feel.
