Yarn-dyed linen jersey - I was told this deadstock fabric is pure linen, but it is so very soft that it probably contains some cotton as well. It is a very drapey single knit, with a soft, slightly dry hand-feel. The knit stripes are in classic black and off-white. Fabric is slightly translucent, especially the white parts, with a slubby look to it. Linen knits don't stick to the skin and are very cooling to wear in hot weather, as linen is naturally more breathable and moisture-wicking than cotton. Suitable for clothing such as short- or long-sleeved tees, drapey blouses and cardigans, cover-ups, etc. Not suitable for fitted clothing.
Fabric will be measured at the selvedge for cutting. The grain doesn't run exactly perpendicular to the selvedge, which is pretty normal for this type of fabric, and it is usually sewn the same way i.e. with the grain/ slubs running slightly diagonal to the selvedge. See this tee for an example.
