Linen single knit jersey, most likely pure linen, in brown melange (the brown has a reddish hint to it). Fabric has a dry hand-feel and some of that linen-y texture but is really quite soft and smooth overall for linen. One side is slightly more textured and "nubby", but is still very comfortable on the skin. Drapes very well and seems to have a bit of a natural sheen to it. Suitable for clothing such as tops, T-shirts, tunics, cover-ups, men's tees, etc. Slightly translucent but not as thin as some linen jerseys can be - an inner layer shouldn't be needed for a top. Designer deadstock. I haven't made this fabric up but I do notice that (store-bought) linen jersey tops can stretch out a bit when worn, though they will spring back into shape after washing - so just be aware of that tendency. Also shown is similar fabric in two other colours, grey melange and natural beige.
Sewing ideas: Here is a Pinterest board of linen jersey garments, or try any top, tee or cardigan that doesn't require a fabric with elastane, such as the Limoncello cardigan by SBCC Patterns or the Paper Theory LB Pullover. There are some lovely examples in this video from The Sewing Workshop, and some sewing tips here on the Lamazi website.
Fabric will be measured at the selvedge for cutting. The grain doesn't run exactly perpendicular to the selvedge, which is pretty normal for this type of fabric, and it is usually sewn the same way i.e. with the grain/ slubs running slightly diagonal to the selvedge. See this tee for an example.
